About Us

Jon Villanueva, Owner of J's Beard Essentials, is L.A. born and raised. In 2014, J and his family moved to Austin, Texas where they currently reside. J has had facial hair since age 16. Skin sensitivity encouraged him to abandon shaving but he always struggled with a dry, brittle and itchy beard.

He battled finding quality beard products that fit his needs due to his sensitive skin. Jon decided to dedicate 2 1/2 years of research, development and countless blends until he came up with perfect set of beard oils, butters, conditioners and balms. He now has 8 years of research, development & testing as he has grown his business to where it's at today. 

Jon never intended to start a beard product business. He used to teach a group of guys how to make beard oil to save some cash while being able grow a healthy beard. He started talking to a guy that essentially forced him to sell him a beard oil. After that interaction, his wife saw his passion for making beard products so she motivated him to share it with others and turn it into a business. From there, J's Beard Essentials was born.
